Politikens Lokalaviser A/S provides local news and local marketing to more than 2 million households in Denmark and Sweden each week through free, local newspapers, local online papers, mobile sites and Web-TV. In Denmark the newspapers are circulated primarily on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, on Thursdays or Fridays for weekend editions and on Wednesdays in Sweden.
Measured in web traffic Lokalavisen.dk is the largest website with local news in Denmark.
 
In recent years Politikens Lokalaviser has shown considerable growt. From the year 2000 the number of papers has increased from 15 in Denmark only  to 86 circulated in southern Sweden and Denmark.
In Denmark, Politikens Lokalaviser publishes 47 papers with a weekly circulation of more than 1.2 million copies. In Sweden 39 papers are published with an average circulation of nearly 0.8 million copies. Local newspapers in Sweden are generally published 46 times each year.
Business activities also include distribution of newspapers, publishing of specialized newspapers and agency business

Since 2008, Politikens Lokalaviser has had activities in Jutland where 20 papers are published in eastern and southern Jutland. In Zealand 27 papers are published. In southern Sweden 39 newspapers are published, all of which bear the name ‘Lokaltidningen’.
